Her Telegram Channels Earn $5,000 Per Month
📝 Maria writes on Indie Hackers…
I created my first Telegram channel in 2022 while working as a data analyst. The main goal was to share useful resources and my experiences. But after a few months, it became an additional source of income.
I have several Telegram channels, in Russian and English.
I earn about $5,000 a month from them…
Additionally, my Telegram channels are great platforms for promoting my own projects.
🚀 How it started…
I created my first Telegram channel in June 2022. Within a few months, with just over 1,000 subscribers, I started earning money and selling ads because advertisers began reaching out to me.
This channel is in a pretty narrow niche: a Telegram channel for beginner data analysts. In my posts, I share useful content that helps subscribers learn for free, practice skills, find internships and jobs worldwide, and much more.
Now…
The channel has over 15,000 subscribers, and last month I earned about $3,000 from this channel alone.
To monetize this channel, I use sponsored ads. Each ad now costs $250, and I post about 10-12 ads per month, gradually increasing the price.
You can check out the channel here.
It's all in Russian 🇷🇺 but you can still clearly see the ad spots.
Maria adds…
Clients mostly found my channel and reached out to me, but I also used newsletters and ad exchanges like on Telega Exchange and others to attract clients.
Telega.io is a platform that apparently has "over 70,000 advertisers [that] are ready to pay for your Telegram audience"
😎 But ads aren't the only way Maria is monetizing…
I earned about $2,000 from NEW channels last month.
I monetize my new channels mainly by selling my own products.
– It's an excellent way to earn money for experts in various fields (lawyers, fitness trainers, psychologists, etc.). An expert runs their channel, attracts targeted subscribers, and sells their services or consultations.
– You can also sell any of your own products—SaaS, physical products.
Would a Telegram channel work well for your niche? 🤔
For inspiration, here's a list of top Telegram channels, which you can filter by language.

$38K Per Year From a No-Code Newsletter (8800 Subs)
Katt Risen from Belgium 🇧🇪 turned her love for no-code startups into a profitable newsletter, No-Code Exits, earning $38,000 annually with less than 9000 subscribers.
According to a recent interview, Katt was bitten by the business bug early…
My dad is an entrepreneur so while growing up I spent a lot of my weekends and holidays working at his company…
My brothers and I inherited some of his entrepreneurial spirit. While growing up we were always busy with silly side hustles.
😍 Eventually Katt discovered no-code tools and started building small projects…
It all changed in 2021 when I was browsing Product Hunt and discovered Softr and the 'No-Code' movement. With these drag-and-drop tools, I could suddenly tinker on my ideas... I was so thrilled…
Eventually, this led to me quitting my job in 2023 to go all in on No-Code.
Her first big win happened in 2022, when her tool advisor chatbot – No-Code Guru – got acquired 🥳
Katt tweeted about the acquisition and…
the tweet BLEW UP: lots of comments, likes and DM's with questions. On a whim, I decided it might make an interesting newsletter topic…
In 30 minutes No-Code Exits was born. I tweeted about it and 24 hours later I woke up to 500 subscribers. Idea validated. I published my own story about the acquisition of No-Code Guru and that is how it all started.
Now, with over 55 editions published, Katt monetizes her newsletter through sponsorships and her own products 👇
Sprints.so (accountability service)
Katt's idea for the newsletter came from her own tweet blowing up.
Which has me thinking: you could probably get a bunch of newsletter ideas by keeping an eye on popular tweets 👀
Maybe even team up with the person who wrote the tweet to create and promote the newsletter.
🗂 Making a Buck off Avoidance
From the archive, published July 2023…
📖 From the book You Are Not So Smart by David McRaney…
Think about an archetypal punk rocker with chains and spikes, gaudy pants and a leather jacket. Yeah, he bought all of those clothes. Someone is making money off of his revolt.
That’s the paradox of consumer rebellion—everything is part of the system. We all sell out, because we all buy things. Every niche opened by rebellion against the mainstream is immediately filled by entrepreneurs who figure out how to make a buck off those who are trying to avoid what the majority of people are buying.
Try using the concept of avoidance to come up with some business ideas 💡
Ask yourself…
What are people already avoiding?
What would they like to avoid but can’t?
Come up with a way to help them avoid those things and charge a good price for it.
