eBiz Insider Business Ideas Newsletter

Hey, it's Niall 👋

Guess what: my silly little online business finally hit $1M in total revenue!

It took almost 6 years, and revenue has been dropping lately – Google Updates, ugh – but I'm going to take a breath and appreciate this milestone 🥳

They say the first million is the hardest.

So hopefully the next million will come quick and easy.

😜 🤞

Alright, let's dive into some business ideas.

TRENDS | PRINT ON DEMAND

$17K/Month Selling Old Art Posters

Eric Lam highlights a recent trend: Wall Decor 👀

Referencing this Google Trends graph, he writes…

Space-specific wall decor is emerging as a growing trend in niche home design markets.

This type of wall decor is tailored to specific rooms or areas within the home…

A keyword analysis indicates that low-competition, niche keywords such as “bathroom wall art” or “kitchen wall decor” are ranking in the top 10 on Google..

This represents a significant SEO opportunity…

The easiest way to tap into this growing trend is by building a website dedicated to space-specific wall decor and optimizing it for long-tail SEO keywords…

[Use] print-on-demand services like Printful to help with initial fulfillment, while the brand proves its concept.

An example of this working: VintageWallGraphics on Etsy.

Apparently that store earns $17K per month 💰 selling prints of old art pieces with expired copyright.

STREAMING AI MUSIC

$518/Month From AI-Generated Country Music

🎶 Check out Beats By AI on…

Looks like they only started in March and each post is an AI-generated song.

3.1M views on this Reel...

Link in bio leads here.

Looks like they're monetizing in a few ways, but probably making the most money by streaming their music on Spotify.

218K streams = $518/month 🤑 (source)

Heard about this via Eric Lam on YouTube (3:10 mark), who claims Beats By AI is using software called Udio to create the songs.

Udio's max pricing is only $30/month. And there's a free plan and a free trial 😎

Beats By AI is focused on country music.

You could try copying their approach but with a different genre of music.

CONTENT REPURPOSING

Helping Your Favorite Podcaster as a Service

Matt Ragland tweets that podcasters 🎙️ should use their shows as source material for email newsletters.

2 ways he does this for his own podcast HeyCreator

🏅 Single stories or frameworks - i.e. the 7 minute clip of your guest giving out the gold

📜 Episode recaps and expansion -  i.e. what else did you learn about from the guest?

He adds…

People like to consume content in different ways, and it doesn't need to be a "this week on the podcast" repurposing.

Use shows from weeks or months ago to reintroduce guests, topics, and ideas that can benefit your readers.

And while you're there... promote sponsors, services, products, whatever you have to sell.

Got me thinking: you could be the person who helps podcasters repurpose their content into email newsletters 💪

Start by reaching out to your favorite podcasters and offering a free or discounted trial.

That New Business Idea Walking Down The Street

CONSULTING | SAAS

This Blueprint Got Them to $10K/Month Within a Year

Check out Echobase, an AI tool that "helps consultants by automating analysis and offering customized recommendations, allowing them to focus more on strategic work."

🚀 Looks like they launched ~1 year ago.

According to a recent interview, they're already doing $10K in monthly revenue 🤑

They started as an AI consulting company, working 1-on-1 with clients...

Through these engagements, we noticed a recurring pattern: we were developing the same technology solution for multiple clients.

So they decided to pivot…

Instead of continuing to build custom solutions for each new client, we packaged the core functionality into a SaaS-like platform.

That made the business far more scalable, no more 1-on-1's.

A good blueprint there for building your own scalable business 👇

  • Offer a service, work directly with clients

  • Find a painful, recurring problem your clients face

  • Build a software solution to solve that problem

Or partner with service providers and skip the first 2 steps.

MONETIZE NOSTALGIA

Someone Rebuilt MySpace and Just Reached 1M Users

Check it out: SpaceHey.com

🇩🇪 The founder is Anton Röhm, and his bio reads…

22yo student from Germany who loves to code

He recently announced that the site has hit 1 million users and shared the origin story…

I launched SpaceHey at the end of 2020 - I had just graduated high-school, and the world was on Covid lockdown. I made SpaceHey, so my generation could experience the early days of social media - without a feed, likes and whatnot

Unclear how much money the site is making. I don't see any ads on there, looks like the only monetization is via donations, stickers and merch 💵

But given the growth, the site could prove to be a great earner for Anton.

Got me thinking: maybe there are opportunities to rebuild and monetize other fondly-remembered websites from the early days of the internet 🤔

Such as…

  • Geocities

  • Digg

  • Friendster

  • Bebo

  • LiveJournal

  • Facebook circa 2010
