New business ideas: $150 mock online juror, $200k automation consulting, $11k weight loss 🤑

eBiz Insider Business Ideas Newsletter

Hey, it's Niall 👋

Did you know you could earn money as a mock online juror?

Or by losing weight?

Or by telling people your product uses AI? 😂

All that and more in today's newsletter.

Let's dive in 👇

WEIRD

He Earned $37.50 Per Hour As a Mock Online Juror

OnlineVerdict conducts online and live focus groups or mock-trials to provide feedback to attorneys in the United States 🇺🇸

As a mock online juror signed up to OnlineVerdict, you'd get a notification whenever there’s a case to review in your area.

You'd then provide feedback on the case and get paid for your time 💰

A guy named Ahmed on YouTube tried it a year ago and reported…

It lasted about 4 hours and I got paid $150 so $37.50 an hour.

📝 He writes in the video description…

I can say it was definitely interesting and pretty fun. Plus it’s shorter and pays better than actual jury duty.

Worth signing up for a free account if you're in the US.

They'll send you the occasional opportunity and you can decide each time if you want to take it 👍

The Wholesale Formula Closing Today

Today's email is brought to you by The Wholesale Formula.

AUTOMATION CONSULTING

Earn $200K/Year Doing This For Clients

💬 Steph Smith tweets

What is stopping you from:

1. Screen recording your processes
2. AI-generating an SOP with Loom
3. Asking GPT-o1 what can be automated
4. Using Cursor to automate those pieces

Strikes me that you could offer this as a service 💡

Get clients to walk through their processes with you on a recorded call.

Or just have them record a screencast of a process, like Steph suggests.

You then figure out a way to automate those processes, custom-build tools with AI as needed 🤖

LANGUAGE TEACHING

$5000+ Per Month Teaching French & English Online

Check out Esther, a French and English teacher on iTalki.

She's only been on the platform since August 2021, so just over 3 years.

But she's taught almost 6000 lessons 🤯

Looks like she's charging at least $30/hour = $180,000+ total.

So approx $5000+ per month 🤑

Esther is a certified teacher on iTalki, but you can also teach there with no qualifications.

Like Zee Chew, a "community tutor" who earned $45,000 in 2.5 Years 👈

Use these searches to see how much people are charging…

You can filter by the language they're teaching, where they're located, etc.

Match the filters to your situation and you'll get a good feel for how much you could earn teaching on iTalki.

(You'd have to build up your rate over time, of course.)

For example, here's Calvin, a community tutor from California who's teaching English and charges $80+ for a trial lesson 💰

PAID TO LOSE WEIGHT

She Won $10,899 By Losing 81 Lbs in 14 Months

Check out this weight loss success story 👇

That's from a site called HealthyWage, where you can bet money that you’ll reach your weight loss goal.

Win the bet and you get a cash prize 💰

$10,899 is the biggest payout I've seen on the site.

I crunched the numbers on 326 success stories and got these averages…

  • 63.5 lbs lost

  • $2,024 won

However, it seems those prize amounts do not factor in the amount wagered 🧐

For example, Whitney C reported paying a total of $900 to participate in a challenge.

She ultimately won $2,659, but her “profit” was only $1,759.

So if you’d like to give HealthyWage a try, remember: you’ll likely have to spend a few hundred dollars AND lose significant weight to have a chance of winning a cash prize 👍

JOB BOARD

These Steep Growth Curves Point To a Job Board Opportunity

📈 Look at these graphs on Exploding Topics…

I saw those and thought, hmm, someone could build a job board specifically for fractional jobs.

Well, someone already has: fractionaljobs.io 👈

DR18, domain registered Dec 2023.

So not a strong or established site, and their homepage looks a bit broken 👀

But they still ranked #6 on Google for “fractional cto jobs” when I searched with a USA VPN.

Given the growth curves on those graphs, I reckon it's still early days and the market is up for grabs.

You could set up a competing job board, curate all the fractional jobs you can find on there, get traffic, and eventually have your own paid job listings 💰
