Utrain helps trainers manage bookings and payments, generated $100K in booking revenue since January.
Elite Hoops lets players and coaches share plays and drills, earning $3000 MRR a year after launch.

Utrain co-founder Daniel Ginsberg is a basketball trainer, not a coder.

I was really inspired by a post… that said most indie hackers don’t make more than $2k/mo and that you should, therefore, de-risk your founder life with a job or contracting.
So Pete started ghostwriting 👻
5 years later, that's still his bread and butter…
Founders and brands pay me to provide a social media strategy and write posts for them.
Pete finds a way to monetize pretty much everything he does.
For example 👇
He was growing on twitter > became a social media ghostwriter
He was running a newsletter > launched a course on running newsletter
He started a job board > built and sold a template for a job board
With that in mind, think about the things you're already doing.

Keyword Research Led Him To $3000 in 4 Months

He did it by building FindMicroSaaSIdeas.com, a site that shows you SEO reports for different niches 🧐
Freemium pricing model.
💡 How he came up with the idea…
If I could find a keyword that people were searching for on Google hundreds/thousands of times every month and it was easy to rank high on search engines then I would go all in
(in SEO land this equates to a Keyword that has a Keyword Difficulty of <= 29 and an Average Search Volume of >= 500).
He found that the keyword "micro saas ideas" was getting ~600 searches each month with low keyword difficulty 😍
So…
I created a database of Micro Saas Ideas with SEO Potential and launched it in June 2024…
I made $700 in the first week of launching.
Solid way to come up with your own business idea: do keyword research until you find a low competition keyword that you can build a freemium product for 😎

A few people replied that they're building something similar.
Closest is Hero Altman's Twitterthread, which was earning $2K/month with 70% profit in August – up from $0 MRR in May – and he sold it recently for around $70K 💰
But that app doesn't seem to be online anymore, buyer might have rolled it into something bigger.
Regardless, as we've seen many times in this newsletter, there's plenty of room for competition in niches like this 🔥
