Hey, it's Niall 👋
It's election day in the USA.
Which reminds me of how Airbnb funded their early startup back in 2008.
It was the run-up to the Obama-McCain election, and the founders of Airbnb were $20k in credit card debt trying to get their idea off the ground.
And then, the story goes…
The Airbnb squad had yet another bat shit crazy idea…
Design and sell limited edition cereal boxes and call them Obama O’s & Captain McCain.
They contacted a print shop and had 1,000 custom boxes printed. They, then, bought a shit ton of Cheerios and Captain Crunch. And, finally, they put the boxes together with a hot glue gun in their apartment and slapped a $40 price tag on them.
And, they hired a leprechaun to tickle their nuts with a four-leaf clover, because their lucky asses somehow got featured on national television and in 24-hours sold 1,000 cereal boxes and with it… pocketed $30,000 in profit.
The ideas below aren't as "bat shit crazy," but you're more likely to earn $30k from them 😉
Let's dive in.

VIDEO REVIEWS
This Faceless Review Video Probably Earned $400+
📝 A post on Reddit…
The product is Infography, an AI tool that turns blog posts into infographics.
Researching it, I found this video review on YouTube 👀
It's a simple screencast with a voiceover, the guy just trying out the tool for the first time and sharing his impressions.
Nothing fancy.
Posted 3 months ago, the video has ~5000 views on a channel with only 16K subscribers 😎
He has an affiliate link for Infography in the description, and gets paid 30% per referral, works out to $15-45 commission per sale.
I wouldn't be surprised if that video has earned $400+ in commissions 🤑
And that channel is posting a review video like that almost every day.
Lots of opportunity for review channels like this, similar to how niche review websites started taking off back in the day 🚀

VIRTUAL BOOKKEEPER
Learned How To Do This Online And Charges $70/Hour
Here's a profile on Kate Johnson, who started a bookkeeping business in 2017 and now earns $70/hour working from home 💰
This is key…
In the US, there are no formal certifications required to call yourself a bookkeeper…
all of the major bookkeeping software providers have their own certification programs. By taking these, you can demonstrate you’re proficient in using their software. But you’ll still need a foundational education on the rules of accounting.
Kate took some online courses to learn the ins and outs of bookkeeping.
She found her first clients via in-person meetups and Paro, "a kind of matchmaking service for bookkeepers and small businesses" 🤝
She charged $20/hour starting out.
Kate has niched down to bookkeeping services for Freshbooks users and uses her YouTube channel for marketing.
Definitely plenty of opportunity in this space.
How about launching your own bookkeeping business? 🤔
SERVICE BUSINESS | SAAS
$1M Business Idea Framework Hiding in Plain Sight
💬 Pat Walls tweets the framework…
Step 1: Find a $1B saas.
Step 2: Build tools on top of it.
He goes on to give a few examples, such as…
Ashish Hirpara responded to Pat's tweet with his own example 👇
I have build $10k a month business…
Basically we sale custom apps on odoo app store, same like shopify store but for enterprise businesses
Check out the Odoo apps store and Ashish's Odoo service.
While you could try building an app like Pat suggests, I reckon a service business on top of a $1B SaaS company is a more reliable way to earn $10K/month 🤑
Odoo isn't even a $1B company yet – and I'd never heard of it – but Ashish is earning good money with his piggyback service.

PRODUCTIZED SERVICE
$10K Per Month With His Copycat Productized Service
📝 A post on Indie Hackers…
The intro…
Brad Adkins quit a frustrating job as a designer to start a productized design service called Designfly. Within a month, he was fully booked. And within 1.5 years, he crossed the $10k MRR milestone.
😍 Love this part…
The idea came when I saw a similar service and thought, “If he can do it, so can I.” With 10+ years as a designer, I knew I had the skills to achieve similar success.
Similar story when I started working for myself: I saw lots of other people doing it and figured they didn't have anything I didn't have or couldn't learn.
Back to the idea here 👇
Most productized services I've seen focus on serving tech businesses and startups.
How about offering productized marketing services for local businesses? 🤔
Eg. plumbing companies, solar panel installers, construction businesses, etc.
CURATION
Earn $5-10K Per Month Doing This For Busy Professionals
💬 Matt McGarry tweets…
Someone's going to make $5,000-$10,000/mo curating high-performing ads…
Problem: Media Buyers have to stay on top of all-things, all-platforms—while finding time to make high-converting ad creative.
Solution: You're going to curate the highest-performing ads, AND make Canva templates out of them (so they become plug-and-play).
He goes into a lot more detail in the thread 👈
More broadly, I like this "curation monetization" framework.
Find a fast-paced niche with busy professionals who struggle to stay on top of the latest trends 🎯
Then curate the most useful content / products / news for those professionals.
You could do this via social media, a newsletter, a YouTube channel, whatever.
Do a good job and the audience should grow 📈
Then lots of ways you could monetize.
Eg. premium upgrade, selling ads, affiliate offers, selling a community or course, etc.
