New business ideas: $99K Yelp for accountants, $19.6K no-code agency, $1.3M weird AI 🤑

eBiz Insider Business Ideas Newsletter

Hey, it's Niall 👋

This tweet went viral back in 2022…

In 1994, Jeff Bezos famously spotted a stat that made him leave his high-paying PE job to start Amazon:

💡 The Internet was growing 2300% per year.

What are the generation-defining stats of today?

Steph Smith went on to share a load of them.

And she recently shared an updated list of "100+ generation-defining stats" in this Google Sheet 👀

Lots of eyebrow-raising stuff in there.

Such as 👇

Only Fans paid creators more than the NBA.

Top growing jobs over the last two decades included manicurists, HR managers, event planners, massage therapists, and compliance officers – in that order.

Searches for "data storytelling" peaked in October 2024.

Have a browse through, might be a stat there that becomes the basis for the next Amazon 😉

Alright, let's jump into some fresh business ideas.

YELP FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

$99,000 in 8 Months Building Yelp For Accountants

👀 A recent episode of My First Million…

One of the ideas (34:30 mark) 👉 Yelp for professional services

Sam Parr has done this for accountants with SamsList.co and shares an update…

8 months ago I created this thing… it did $99,000 in revenue and a little bit of profit and we have someone who's working on it…

Everyone is begging us – by the way, if anyone wants to go do this, go for it – everyone's begging us for Sam's List but for agencies

Of course, Sam has a pretty big audience that he leveraged to spread the word, so it's not like anyone can earn $99K in a few months doing this kind of thing.

But clearly there is demand 🔥

If you're interested in pursuing the idea, might be worth finding an established "influencer" in the space and partnering with them.

NO-CODE AGENCY

$19.6K Revenue For His Small Agency in Month 3

📝 Nazran F posts on Reddit…

It's an MVP development agency: AgileMVPs

Nazran secured that $11k project via Upwork…

I often resort to freelancing platforms like Upwork when my other client acquisition channels are not going well… I’m glad I kept being periodically active on the platform. I would not have gotten this opportunity otherwise.

A couple of days later he tweeted that he was at $19.6K revenue for the month, up from $9K in December 🤑

Sounds like he only started 3 months ago.

And apparently Nazran isn't writing much code to build those MVPs for clients, judging by his recommendations here

- ChatGPT (go to guy for everything, make PRDs, think of critical solutions, planning)

- Figma (the most intuitive way to design)

- v0 (turn your designs into front end code in minutes)

- Cursor (compile and debug using English; not writing a single line of code)

Lots of opportunity in this space if you're willing to jump in and learn those tools 💪

MEMBERSHIP SITES

Favorite Business Model of a 7-Figure Online Entrepreneur

💬 Ian Nuttall tweets about his 19 years of building profitable websites, including…

19 years ago I built my first website and sold it for $14k…

16 years ago I flipped that $8k website for $45k to buy a house…

2 years ago had a ~$500k exit for two pSEO sites

1 year ago I built a 6-figure portfolio of two SaaS products

All told, he's earned millions of dollars over the years 💰 and he's not stopping now…

This year I'm still building websites, but I am almost EXCLUSIVELY using AI to do it.

But the surprising part is what he writes in a follow-up comment

I still maintain that a solid membership community is the best model.

Low tech, recurring revenue, passionate audience.

Probably even easier than ever to scale with less/no team members using AI!

If you already have a following online, you could test out the idea of a membership community 🧐

Ian also tweeted last year…

I built a $30k MRR membership site using WordPress.

Here are the core tools I used to do it

TRENDS

Renter Friendly: Lots of People Searching For This Nowadays

📈 The Exploding Ideas newsletter highlights the growing interest in the term "renter friendly," especially in the USA…

Renter-friendly solutions are products or methods that allow tenants to enhance their spaces without violating lease agreements or causing damage.

Examples 👇

  • peel-and-stick wallpapers

  • temporary flooring

  • no-drill shelves

  • adhesive-mounted cameras

Looks like there are lots of low hanging keywords in this niche.

In the past I would have recommended starting a niche website for this and monetizing with affiliate links.

But affiliate SEO is a much tougher game nowadays 😕

I could see someone doing well with a YouTube channel dedicated to this niche, or an Instagram account.

Another possibility: a dropshipping store for renter friendly items 👍

AI-GENERATED PODCAST

They Raised $1.3 Million For This Weird AI Use Case

#21 on Glen Allsopp's recent income report…

📝 Glen's explanation…

Retellio essentially monitors all company calls – like sales calls and customer support calls – and turns them into a 30-minute weekly podcast so business leaders can stay on top of what is happening in their business.

AI is then used to spot trends, common issues and important discussions to include in each summary.

Gets me thinking: what other busy professionals would listen to an AI-generated podcast that keeps them informed? 🤔

I know my GP never has time to keep up with the latest in medical research or technology, so perhaps that's a niche that could use something like this.

Podcasts are ideal for busy people, can listen to them while doing something else (eg. driving, exercising, cooking, etc.)

Easy enough nowadays to monitor and summarize the latest news in an industry with AI, then turn it into a podcast with NotebookLM 🤖
