eBiz Insider Business Ideas Newsletter
Hey, it's Niall 👋
I'm trying a new thing in today's newsletter: feedback buttons for every business idea.
Scroll down and you'll see little 👍 and 👎 links at the bottom of each section.
Click those to let me know what you think.
I don't expect you to vote on every idea – that would be a lot of clicking! – but each bit of feedback helps me fine tune this newsletter so every email can pack a bigger punch 🥊
Alright, let's get stuck in.

AFFILIATE MARKETING
$30K/Year From Affiliate Marketing With a Small Audience
📝 David Ramos writes on Reddit…
Between software, Amazon, and courses, my affiliate income has sat around $30k/yr for just over 5 years now
Sounds like his YouTube channel has been key, despite only 4K subs…
Long-form (like 20+ min) videos that are low quality (just me and a bad mic and some screensharing software) have VASTLY out-performed highly edited videos that are shorter
David recommends promoting high ticket products 🤑
He gives the example of Kajabi ($2000/yr software), which he has talked about in several videos, each with his affiliate link in the description.
80% of my aff income has come from 5 products… I talked about them A LOT… They were actually good, and they actually made sense to recommend to my network (other writers, content folks, etc.)
💬 David adds in the comments…
I made this video about 4 years back and still stand by a lot of the info. It'll at least point you in the right direction and get you thinking about the foundational elements of what needs to work to make [affiliate marketing] work

He Got AI To Start a Business For Him While He Watched
👀 A recent video from Chris Koerner…
Operator is an AI agent "that can use its own browser to perform tasks for you" 🤖
$200/mo for access, US only and has some restrictions. (Free alternative outlined here if you're more tech savvy, and a $20/mo alternative.)
Chris told Operator to…
Browse Facebook Marketplace
Find people nearby who are trying to get rid of pianos
Message them
Offer $200 to take their piano away
Chris focuses on the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where there are 50-60 free pianos listed every day 🎹
Even if only a small % take the offer…
That's 28 people a week agreeing to pay $200, that's $5600 a week… that could be a six-figure business
Obviously you'd have to rent a truck to move the pianos, probably fees to dispose of them, and there's a good bit of manual labor involved 💪
Still, it's impressive to see how he's able to test out this idea with AI doing a lot of the initial work.
Well worth watching his video and thinking about how else you could use Operator to test your ideas 🧐

$6400 Last Month From His Product Hunt Alternative
📝 From a recent interview on Indie Hackers…
Thomas Sanlis built a product directory years ago and put it on autopilot while it brought in an easy $2k/mo. But then, he saw an opportunity: Dissatisfaction with Product Hunt was growing.
So he pivoted the directory into a product launch platform. Now, Uneed is bringing in nearly $7k/mo.
Looks like Thomas launched the site in mid-2020 🚀
Uneed's numbers from a recent month (source)...
👪 29,000 unique visitors
📈 145,000 pageviews
🖱️ 8,200 visitors redirected to product websites
💰 $6,400 revenue
Thomas talks in the interview about monetizing via…
A "skip the line" option
Paid product reviews
Sponsors (eg. on homepage sidebar)
What other popular sites or platforms do see people becoming dissatisfied with? 🤔
Could you build a simple alternative and cash in?

AI TOOL
His AI-Generated Avatar is Earning $100 Per Day
Julian Goldie recently posted on YouTube…
That title is a bit misleading: Julian posted an AI-generated video (this one) on his popular YT channel and earned $100/day from ads.
Tough to replicate without an established channel 😕
But at the 10:45 mark Julian goes on to show another way to earn money with this tech.
The tech is HeyGen (free version available), which can create…
an AI version of you that speaks 175 languages, moves naturally, and always follows the script.
The idea 👉 use that tech to create AI avatars for clients on Fiverr or Upwork.
Example gig on Fiverr with 130+ positive reviews…
The sample shown there is actually pretty poor quality compared to what HeyGen can do 👍

TRASH TO TREASURE
Leftover Restaurant Food = $162 Million/Year Business
From CNBC Make It on YouTube…
It's a Danish 🇩🇰 company called Too Good To Go…
Its app connects users to retailers selling surprise bags of leftover food at the end of the day.
Love that they turned a waste product (leftover food) into a highly profitable business 🤑
I've heard of other examples of this over the years…
Used coffee grounds > fertilizer or compost business
Spent grain from breweries > animal feed business
Sawdust from carpenters > eco-friendly fire logs
Used tires from auto shops > recycled rubber products
Fabric scraps from tailors > stuffing for cushions or pillows
Think about the businesses in your area.
Do any of them produce a lot of waste? 🤔
Could you turn that waste into a business somehow?
