Origin story…

Back in December 2022, I wanted to build a daily coding challenge platform for frontend developers. The goal was to create real-world challenges that would help devs improve their skills by building something, not just watching endless tutorials…

The platform started as a free challenge site, but I later introduced different paid tiers

Florin earned $67,000 from the project during the two years he ran it, and sold when he started feeling burned out.

So $117,000 total revenue from the project in 2 years 🤑

I'm thinking this could work for other industries / professions…

real-world challenges that would help [target audience] improve their skills by building something, not just watching endless tutorials.

Two of the many suggestions ChatGPT gave me 👇

$200-400 Per Night From an Old Polaroid Camera

I found an old Polaroid camera when I was cleaning my grandparent's place and walked around downtown and offered to take people's picture for $5. 

For some reason people love the nostalgia of a Polaroid physical picture. I would make anywhere from $200-400 per night.

I could see this being a profitable side hustle in tourist areas. Hang out in front of popular landmarks and offer to take cute photos 📸

The same person says they also tried the piano removal business idea I covered a few weeks back, made some money doing that, too.

JOB BOARDS

$515 Already From His Plumbing Job Board

Romel, the owner of PlumbingJobs.com reports that he launched the site last October 🚀 and it has earned $515 so far via premium listings…

I'm not a very technical guy and I don't know how to code. So the best way for me was learning to build [the site] using Wordpress through YouTube.

But Romel didn't start completely from scratch: he bought the PlumbingJobs.com domain, probably for a few $1000 💰

And that domain was host to a plumbing job board previously, so it likely had some SEO juice.

Still, his success tells me that there could be a job board like this for every profession.
